I should be putting this in the REVIEW dept. but I do not know how. Anyway, this is about the KYB struts that I bought for my car last month.
I have been driving for 20 years and I always replaced my own shocks/struts on all my former and present cars. I have always used KYB GR2 or Excel-G brands so many times because this was recommended to me by my friends and I always purchased used cars. I got disappointed lately because the KYB GR2 struts that I bought are no longer made in Japan. It is now made in USA and it does not perform well. Before, I have an 84 Audi 5000 , 94 Toyota Tercel, 87 Nissan Pick up. All of my former cars/truck does not have a stabilizer or sway bars. With ordinary shocks / struts, you feel that you are going to roll over when driving fast on a curved road. I replaced the struts / shocks with KYB (Japan made) GR2 gas struts and it sure help on curved roads (without sway bars) but still have a nice suspension/ ride on freeways or bumpy roads. At present, I have a 99 Camry and a 97 Ford Escort. Last year, I changed the struts in my Camry with KYB Japan. Still excellent performance on the curve or on a bumpy road.
Last month, I bought the KYB GR2 struts for my other car..a 97 Ford Escort. Bought it here in Ebay like I always do. When the struts arrived, all of them are now made in USA. Oh well, I said it might perform the same as made in Japan. I installed the 4 struts in my Escort and got disappointed with the performance. Escorts got sway bars on front and back but when I drive fast on curved roads, it so soft like it feels like an ordinary struts. I even pushed the front part of the car up and down while stationary, it still so soft. So, disappointing. KYB (USA made) did not perform well compared to KYB (Japan made).
So before you buy KYB struts/shocks, make sure to ask if it is made in Japan. ( I noticed that if the GR2 or ExcelG is made in Japan, strut is silver in color and white if it is shock, USA made are black in color.)
Не зна този защо толкова се оплаква от тях...,аз съм доволен ама и сравнения с искинска Японска Каяба няма как да направя.....,а в Европа качеството не вярвам да е по добро от Щатското...,та поне имайте 1 на ум.....
